Mini First Aid; a first for Surrogacy support
Mini First Aid was set up in 2014 with the aim of offering quality baby and child first aid classes to parents and carers. Initially operating from her kitchen in Leeds, mum Kate Ball had a vision of creating relaxed first aid classes where parents could learn the skills needed to cope in an emergency, in a family friendly environment. Kate is absolutely passionate that every family up and down the country learns basic first aid, after suffering a close personal loss in which the bystanders were tragically unable to offer life-saving help. Now 7 years later and with 60 plus franchises training around 1000 parents in life saving skills every week, Mini First Aid is proud to be offering potentially life saving classes right across the UK!
Award winning team
Mini First Aid offers a huge variety of award-winning classes, teaching parents, carers and grandparents, but also childcare professionals via our certified qualification courses. We also offer a range of classes for children, from our Early Years classes which teach children how to call an ambulance, to our Kids classes which teach how to deal with burns and bleeding, to our Teens classes which teach CPR. We offer a range of delivery styles – from open courses in local venues, to private classes in your own home, to classes within schools, and during the COVID-19 pandemic, we have offered online courses so that people can learn first aid via Zoom!
All the essentials
Our core class is our 2 hour Baby and Child First Aid class, which aims to give new and expectant parents the peace of mind to be able to deal with first aid emergencies. Covering CPR, choking, bumps, burns, breaks, bleeding, febrile seizures and meningitis awareness, this practical course teaches first aid techniques suitable for new born babies through to primary school aged children. Loved by The Unmumsy Mum, rugby hero Jonny Wilkinson and his wife Shelley as well as the wonderful Giovanna Fletcher, our 2 hour class is a MUST for parents of babies and young children. As Gi says:
“Obviously, I hope I never have to use the things I learned in today’s class, but horrible things happen and knowing these techniques can really make a huge difference. The class was fun and accessible given the seriousness of the topic. I would highly recommend everyone doing it.”Giovanna Fletcher
Mini First Aid are excited to have partnered with My Surrogacy Journey as part of the wonderful package of support they bring to new and expectant parents. We are delighted that we can help people starting out on their journey as parents to feel more confident and calm, safe in the knowledge that should a first aid emergency arise, they have the necessary skills to cope.
