Taking on a challenge for change

My Surrogacy Journey Foundation launched in 2023 and we are excited to head into the new year with plans in place to grow The Foundation to create lasting change for modern family building and surrogacy here in the UK and through our international programmes.

We are inviting you to be part of something incredible in 2024 to help us to grow The Foundation and to be a valuable part of our fundraising efforts.

Many of you will know how hard we work as a team here at MSJ to change the landscape for modern families through our commitment to an improved society, we are so much more than a surrogacy agency. The Foundation acts to provide support, education, advocacy and evidence to ensure that the world we live in is prepared for and providing excellence to modern families. Where there is a barrier we address it, where there is discrimination we call it out, where the laws and practices of fertility, surrogacy, IVF, ART, egg and sperm donation, fostering and adoption are inequitable we work with our partners and stakeholders to change that.

What’s the challenge?

In 2024 we are committing to taking on an incredible team challenge to raise much needed funding for our work through The Foundation. We are taking a team of 15 people to Peru in November to take on the infamous Inca Trail. This classic Inca Trail encompasses 3 high mountain passes – the highest being 4,200m. The trek will be tough and will certainly test us, but upon witnessing the sight of Machu Picchu through the Sun Gate, mirrored with breathtaking views across the Andes, our efforts are more than worthwhile. Standing proudly together!

We are inviting you, as our supporters to consider joining our team. We have already identified some of the 15 people who will join us, but we have several open spaces for others who believe in our work and think that this challenge is something they could do to support us. Your commitment would be to be available for the trek, between 1st-10th November 2024, be fit enough to undertake the challenge and able to fundraise through your networks to achieve the required level of funding to be a participant. If you are interested in the challenge we are hosting an information finding evening on the 30th January 2024, at which point you will hear all about the challenge, what is involved and how to sign up to be part of the My Surrogacy Journey Foundation team challenge.

Mike and Wes work hard enough as it is to grow the collective of brands that make up The Surrogacy and Modern Family collective, but they have committed to one of them joining our team. This in itself should be inspiration to join us, imagine the joy of walking side by side with Mike or Wes through the 60KM+ trek of the Inca Trail. We are confident that they will keep your spirits high as we put in the extraordinary effort together to conquer this challenge and support The Foundation.

How do I get involved?

This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to take on one of the great wonders of the world as we put in the effort together to support modern families and surrogacy through our united efforts as fundraisers and trekkers. If you have always thought you would love to take part in something that really challenges you physically and as a fundraiser, please consider getting involved and pushing yourself throughout 2024 to be part of this incredible opportunity. Be ready for lots of on Trek social media updates, lots of sharing our honest highs and lows of being part of this fabulous team event and the celebration at the end of it all when we stand proudly together as key fundraisers for The Foundation.
